'Life is Never Easy...,' Emotional Sanju Samson Breaks Down After Tragic Defeat

Sport can be cruel at times especially when a victory is snatched from the jaws at the very last moment. Something similar happened with Rajasthan Royals (RR) when they hosted SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) at Jaipur where 17 runs were required off the final over and the situation reached five from one.

In most cases the bowling side would back themselves to take the game and they did that too but an unfortunate no-ball from the bowler Sandeep Sharma gave another chance to the opposition with Abdul Samad on strike who smashed the last ball for six, breaking the hearts and hopes of Royals.

After the game, skipper Sanju Samson mentioned that games like these make the IPL special as the game is never won before it is actually finished. Also, Samson was quite confident of winning the game with Sandeep bowling but no-ball destroyed their plans.

"This is what IPL gives you, matches like these makes the IPL special. You can never, never, never feel like you have won the game. I knew any opponent can win it and they were batting well too, but I was confident with Sandeep (defending the final over). He has won us a game from a similar situation (against CSK). He did it again today but that no-ball ruined our result.

"Sandeep knows what to do. Maybe there might be a small change in mindset for a few seconds when you feel that the job is done, everyone was celebrating but I think that's the nature of this game, you can't step the line at that point of time. But with the target we posted, you can only feel happy once you win the game right, so not at all happy at the moment,"

Moreover, Sanju seemed quite emotional when he explained that it is not at all easy winning the game mainly because of the nature and kind of format it is.

"To be honest life is never easy playing this format, especially this tournament. Each and every game we have to play our best standard of cricket. We will come back and try to do it again."

Moving on from this heartbreak, Rajasthan will next clash against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on 11th May at Eden Gardens.
