Obed McCoy Makes his First Grand Entry in IPL 2023 ; Replaces Ravi Ashwin

Obed McCoy, the big man from the Caribbean is known for his excellent skills at the death and played a key role in Rajasthan Royals' (RR) journey to the IPL final in the 2022 season. However, McCoy could not play for RR in any of their first 10 games in IPL 2023 due to an injury.

Now, however, in the 11th game for RR in IPL 2023, Obed McCoy has been drafted into the playing XI as an Impact Player against SRH. He replaced Ravi Ashwin who bowled a good spell, giving away 35 runs in his four overs with a wicket of Abhishek Sharma. McCoy was brought on the field at the end of 13th over with SRH needing 98 off 42 balls.

Obed McCoy took 11 wickets in seven matches in the 2022 season but did not start well in his first over in IPL 2023. He gave away 13 runs in the over but this is just his first game, and we can expect him to get better as he plays more matches this season.
