DC-W Vs UP-W Pitch Report by Deep Dasgupta & Stacy-Ann King

Deep: "The pitch we’re going to use tonight is the same one that was used for the first two games. Scores of 160 and 200 were both successfully chased down. Now, regarding the dimensions: one side is rather small—49 meters to my right—while the left side is 59 meters. Straight down, it measures 70 meters."

King: "Well, I think the pitches have settled quite a lot since that 200-run chase. I don't think we'll see that again tonight, but nonetheless, it's still a very good track as we go down for a closer look. It's still firm, still hard, so I expect runs to be on offer once again.

The challenge for batters, especially if they don’t win the toss, is how to avoid losing wickets in the powerplay. How do they set a respectable total that their bowlers can defend? As for the bowlers, they’ve been exceptional. They’ve figured out what works for them on these tracks, and that’s what it’s going to be again tonight."

Deep: "This might not be a 200-run pitch, but it doesn’t have as many cracks as the previous one, so it should still be better than what we’ve seen in the last couple of games. Overall, it should be a decent pitch to bat on."
