Playing cricket for India is a massive accomplishment that only a select few have managed to achieve.

India's wicketkeeper-batter KL Rahul, who since making a comeback from injury, has looked meaner, fitter, and hungrier for runs, attained a unique Indian record when the player took the field in his 50th Test for the nation today against England in Hyderabad.

Having appeared in 50 red-ball matches, Rahul became only the sixth Indian cricketer to feature in 50 matches across formats—Test, One-Day International (ODI), and T20 Internationals (T20I)—to join the likes of Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Ravichandran Ashwin, and Ravindra Jadeja.

Rahul has already played 75 ODIs and 72 T20Is for India since making his debut in 2014.

Indian Players With 50 Matches Across Formats

Overall, in 197 internationals between 2014 and 2024, Rahul has amassed 7,840 runs with 17 centuries, and 53 fifties, where the breakdown of his runs is as follows - T20I: 2,265, Test: 2,755, and ODI: 2,820.

Apart from batting, Rahul has also showcased his capabilities with the gloves, inflicting 65 dismissals as the designated wicketkeeper in 45 matches for India.
