KL Rahul Brings Up His 5th IPL Century; List Of All Records Broken By DC Star vs Gujarat Titans

In the ongoing IPL 2025 match between Delhi Capitals and Gujarat Titans at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, KL Rahul hogged the limelight as he smashed a century and became the first right-hand batter in the ongoing season to hit a hundred. 

It is worth noting that Rahul scored an unbeaten 112 (65), which featured 14 fours and four sixes. With the feat, KL also scripted several feats to his name and this article will look at all the records broken by Rahul with his century knock against Gujarat Titans. 

1. First Player To Hit Centuries For 3 Teams

With the century, KL Rahul also became the first player in the history of IPL to smash a century for three different teams. Notably, KL has represented Punjab Kings, Lucknow Super Giants and Delhi Capitals and has smashed a century for all these three teams. 

Rahul has two centuries each for Punjab Kings and Lucknow Super Giants, while it was his first century for the Capitals. 

2.Fastest To 8000 T20 Runs

With the feat, KL Rahul has also completed 8000 T20 runs and is now the quickest Indian player to  8000 T20 runs, going past KL Rahul. Further, Rahul now holds the record for fastest to 5000, 6000, 7000, and 8000 T20 runs. 

3.Ends The Century Curse For Right-Hand Batters

Before this match, only left-hand batters were hitting centuries and most of the right-hand batters such as Shreyas Iyer, Jos Buttler, KL Rahul himself and a few others failed to breach the three-figure mark. However, KL Rahul ended the curse by smashing a century and that too in style with a four.
