The rivals in the first-ever game in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL), Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will clash again this time at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

 RCB vs KKR toss winner

RCB had a great start to the tournament where they defeated Mumbai Indians (MI) convincingly in the first game whereas KKR lost out to Punjab Kings (PBKS) by 7 runs (DLS) in a rain-curtailed encounter.

Faf du Plessis will come out and lead his side to ensure that they win enough games early on to book a berth in the playoffs without much hassle. Meanwhile, in the absence of regular skipper Shreyas Iyer, Nitish Rana has been handed over the responsibility to be captain of the Knight Riders.

Therefore, it was home team's skipper Nitish Rana who flipped the coin as it fell in visiting skipper Faf du Plessis's favour who then decided to field first.

Both sides opting for one change in their respective XIs with one forced and other tactical. RCB calling in David Willey for Reece Topley who injured his shoulder in the last game while KKR choose Suyash Sharma for Anukul Roy.

Royal Challengers Bangalore Playing XI: Faf du Plessis (c), Virat Kohli, Michael Bracewell, Glenn Maxwell, Dinesh Karthik (wk), Shahbaz Ahmed, Karn Sharma, David Willey, Harshal Patel, Akash Deep, Mohammed Siraj

Impact Players for RCB: Sonu Yadav, Suyash Prabhudessai, Mahipal Lomror, Anuj Rawat, Finn Allen

Kolkata Knight Riders Playing XI: Rahmanullah Gurbaz (wk), Mandeep Singh, Nitish Rana (c), Rinku Singh, Andre Russell, Suyash Sharma, Shardul Thakur, Sunil Narine, Tim Southee, Umesh Yadav, Varun Chakravarthy

Impact Players for KKR: N Jagadeesan, David Wiese, Anukul Roy, Vaibhav Arora, Suyash Sharma

Here's what the two captains said at toss:

Nitish Rana (Kolkata Knight Riders captain): "I would have bowled first as well due to the dew factor. Definitely, you can add bowlers or batters as the impact player rule is. This is the best part of the rule and what it is for. Anukul Roy is making way for Suyash Sharma who is making his IPL debut."

Faf du Plessis (RCB Captain): "We are going to have a bowl first, quite a bit misunderstanding of the accent there. Feels like there's a bit of dew and we are hoping that it would get more skiddy in the second half and because of the change in rule we can have an extra batter also. The title is a long way away and we just want to focus on playing good cricket, and it's a strong opposition, so we are really motivated to give our best. Just a forced change, Topley being injured and David Willey coming in."
