West Indian cricketers, Sunil Narine and Andre Russell have been the cornerstone for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for the past so many years.

The two players have etched their names in IPL history books, with Narine set for his 150th IPL match and his teammate, Russell set to feature in his 100th match.

Narine was boight by KKR in 2012, when the wily bowler was dubbed as a 'mystery spinner.' Since then, he has helped KKR win two IPL titles, and has taken 153 wickets in 149 matches. He was a fearsome bowler before the West Indian re-modelled his bowling action, but still continued to be an asset for KKR.

In the two IPL winning seasons under Gautam Gambhir, Narine picked up a combined 45 wickets and was the chief destroyer in the middle overs.

Talking about Russell, he was bought by the franchise in 2014, and since then the all-rounder has never looked back. He had hs breakout season for KKR in 2015, when he racked up 326 runs in 13 matches and picked up 14 wickets to showcase his all-round prowess.

KKR are set to face RCB in match 9 of IPL 2023. The Faf du Plessis led RCB have won the toss and have elected to bowl first.
