KAR vs ISL Highlights [Source: @IsbUnited/x.com]
Islamabad United continued their winning streak as they made light work of a below-par Karachi Kings outfit in Match 10 of PSL 2025 at the National Stadium, Karachi. Chasing a modest 129, United barely broke a sweat as they cruised to a 6-wicket win with nearly three overs to spare.
It was a night where Karachi's batting never took off, their bowlers had too little to defend and Islamabad's calm, calculated chase led by Shadab Khan and Azam Khan showed why they are the defending champions.
Here are Karachi Kings vs Islamabad United highlights from the PSL 2025 match in Karachi-
Slow Start, Early Jitters As Warner, Vince & Seifert Fall Flat
Karachi Kings never really got out of first gear. Skipper David Warner’s stay was short as he departed for just 3 in the second over to a beauty from Naseem Shah.

James Vince didn’t fare much better, scratching around before Jason Holder rattled his stumps. At 22/2 in the fourth over, the Kings were wobbling.

Tim Seifert, promoted up the order, tried to steady the ship but couldn’t shift gears. He scratched his way to 30 off 37, a knock that looked more like net practice in slow motion. By the halfway mark, Karachi were 61/3, and the pressure was mounting.
Middle-Order Meltdown And Abbas Afridi’s Late Fireworks
Saad Baig (20 off 17) showed some promise, hitting four crisp boundaries before falling to Shadab Khan just when he looked set.

Karachi’s middle order resembled a house of cards. Khushdil Shah crawled to 17 off 23 and once he fell in the 17th over, the writing was on the wall. Irfan Khan and Aamer Jamal also failed to impress, falling cheaply and leaving fans fuming in the stands.

But just when it looked like Karachi would crawl to a sub-120 total, Abbas Afridi walked in and turned on beast mode. In a span of just 9 balls, he smashed 24 runs, including 3 sixes that finally gave the crowd something to cheer about. His cameo dragged the Kings to 128/7, still a below-par score but better than what was shaping up to be a disaster.

Farhan Fires Early, Azam Holds the Fort
Islamabad United came out with intent and it didn’t take long for Sahibzada Farhan to start throwing punches. He got the ball rolling with crisp boundaries and a six, racing to 30 off just 18 balls. Farhan looked like he was batting on a different surface until Hasan Ali broke through with a sharp catch by Warner. But the early blitz had already set the tone.
In came Azam Khan, and while he didn’t blaze away, he did exactly what was needed – anchor the innings. With Colin Munro falling cheaply off Hasan Ali for 4, Azam took it upon himself to grind it out.
His 31 off 30 wasn't the flashiest knock, but it was the glue holding the chase together. He milked singles, rotated strike and whenever Karachi thought they could put the brakes on, he would find a boundary to keep them honest.
Captain Shadab Takes Charge, Seals the Deal
After Azam’s departure at 103/3 in the 14th over, Shadab Khan stepped up. The skipper played a captain’s knock under the lights at Karachi as he showed composure and class in equal measure. He didn’t overhit, he just found the gaps, picked his moments and kept Islamabad ticking. His 47 off 40 balls included 5 fours and 2 sixes.

The Kings tried everything. Hasan Ali bowled his heart out, Abbas Afridi found a breakthrough, Nabi spun a tight spell but United were always ahead of the game.
Shadab fell just one run short of the target, bowled by Afridi, but by then the match was all but done. Mohammad Nawaz finished things off with a single as Islamabad wrapped up the chase with 17 balls and six wickets to spare.
