Inglis hammers Bumrah [Source: AP Photo]
How often has it happened that someone treats Jasprit Bumrah like a schoolboy bowler and takes him to the cleaners?. This is exactly what Josh Inglis did to the MI pacer as the Punjab Kings batter smacked him for 20 runs and shattered his confidence in a tricky run-chase in the Qualifier 2.
Bumrah treated like schoolboy by Inglis
Punjab Kings needed 204 runs to qualify for the finale and they lost an early wicket in the form of Prabhsimran Singh. However, what transpired was the batting of highest class as Inglis showed no fear and Bumrah, for the first time in the tournament felt mortal as a bowler.
In the 5th over, Bumrah was introduced in the attack and the PBKS batter welcomed him with a four off the very first ball. A dot ball followed and then Inglis smacked a gigantic six. The fifth and the sixth ball were hammered for a 4 and a 6 as Bumrah conceded 20 runs in the over, his most expensive in the IPL 2025 season.
Normally batters approach his overs with caution, but Inglis had a different tactics as he assaulted the MI pacer to rattle his confidence.

Advantage MI as PBKS in hunt for unthinkable
Interestingly, in the history of the IPL, no team has ever chased down 200-plus total against MI and PBKS aim to break the jinx. MI have the advantage as despite conceding 20 runs in his first over, Bumrah still has 3 overs left and it could potentially decide the outcome of the game.
