Riding on a disciplined bowling performance and scintillating knocks from the openers, England swatted aside India by ten wickets to ensure their grand entry to the final. Bowling first, the Englishmen restricted the Men in Blue to a modest 168 and later gunned down the total without breaking a sweat.

After England's clinical win, skipper Jos Buttler hailed his troops for bouncing back from a horrendous defeat to Ireland and credited their aggression from the word go for the dramatic turnaround in their fortune in the showpiece event.

Buttler also lauded Alex Hales and Chris Jordan, England's star performers with bat and ball, respectively, in the all-important encounter.

Here's what Buttler stated

"I think the character we have shown since then (England's loss against Ireland) - it has been amazing. Everyone from 1 to 11 - stood up today. We always want to start fast and aggressive. Rashid was batting at 11, that's incredible to know that we have such depth,

"Hales used the dimensions well and he has shown his form. It's important to enjoy this, it was a brilliant performance from us. I think we need to give special credit to Jordan, to bowl 3 overs at the death coming into the semi-final, it was a tough job. He handled the pressure towards the end pretty well, especially bowling against a world class player like Hardik Pandya."

On Sunday, England will face Pakistan in the final of the tournament in Melbourne.
