Ravindra Jadeja is one of the finest fielders in world cricket, and it is rare to see him drop a catch. Unfortunately for India, that rare moment came on Day 2 of the first Test against England when Jadeja dropped Duckett.
The cricketer, though, has now redeemed himself with an outstanding effort near the boundary line to send back the dangerous Jamie Smith. It was the 80th over of England's innings, and India needed a wicket badly. Prasidh Krishna was the bowler in action and delivered a quick short delivery to surprise Jamie Smith.

The English wicketkeeper, though, was not in any mood to back away and played a pull shot. He hit it decently but could not go past Ravindra Jadeja at the deep. The veteran Indian all-rounder caught the ball and, after realising that the momentum was taking him over the boundary line, threw it back to the playing area.
Luckily for India, Sai Sudharsan was backing him up, and he completed the catch to pull off a rare relay catch in Test cricket. It was a big, big wicket for India, and it was a relief for the fans to see an Indian fielder taking a catch amidst dropped catches throughout the innings.

It was the sixth wicket for India, with England's score at 349, and Smith departed for a well-made 40 off 52 balls. However, Harry Brook was still going strong and was dropped by Yashasvi Jaiswal on 82 at slips off the bowling of Jasprit Bumrah again. Luckily for India, Prasidh Krishna's short-ball ploy worked against Brook, too, and the right-handed batter departed on 99.
Overall, the match is quite evenly poised, with England taking their score over 400 in reply to India's 471. The English batters have been helped by plenty of drop catches on the way, and the young Indian team would be hoping to tighten things up as the game progresses.
