'It's Great to Have him...,' Devon Conway Talks about MS Dhoni and his Influence

Devon Conway has made rapid strikes in world cricket in the last couple of years with his consistent batting and he is now on his way to rule IPL as well. He has achieved a rare feat by smashing four fifties in a row and is playing a big role in CSK's march this year. He scored 56 off 40 balls against KKR and laid the foundation of a huge total as CSK in the end managed a comfortable win of 49 runs.

After the game, Conway talked about his batting approach, CSK's team environment and of course, MS Dhoni! Conway said that the partnership with Ruturaj Gaikwad helps him. Mentions that he was just trying to keep it simple and applauds Ruturaj Gaikwad. He also admitted that he had issues with the bodyline deliveries earlier but felt that it is getting away from the last few games.

"Probably it was the partnership up there with Rutu. We were just trying to keep it simple. Lot of credit goes to Rutu. I have always had issues with the balls on bodyline but seems to be getting that away in the past few games,"

Conway also added that he was just trying to be positive and put bowlers under pressure. He also said that the team culture in Chennai is special and everyone knows their roles and everyone feels backed. Conway also stated that their is a good vibe in the team as they are winning and just want to move forward in the tournament.

"I'm just trying to be positive. My role at the top is to try and put bowlers under pressure. The culture we have here at Chennai is special. Everyone knows their roles. Everyone feels backed. The good vibe in the group winning a few games on the bounce so continuing this momentum and just moving forward in the tournament as much as possible,"

Conway also praised Dhoni and his presence in the team. He said that it feels like a home fixture every time they play and added that it is great to see CSK fans cheering for Dhoni and the whole group.

"Having MS in your group, it's great to have him. It feels like a home fixture every time he plays. It is great that CSK fans get behind him and us as a group."

CSK will now play their next game on Thursday, 27th of April against Rajasthan Royals at Jaipur.
