Shivam Dube is known in India's domestic structure as one of the most cleanest and powerful hitters of the cricket ball. He has even played for India but has somehow failed to replicate his domestic performances in international and even IPL more consistently.

However, in the 2023 season, he has been brilliant and seem to have finally arrived in the IPL. He has batted at number 4 in many games in IPL 2023 and has now got his second fifty of the season repaying the faith shown by MS Dhoni and CSK on the powerful all-rounder. His fifty against KKR in the ongoing game came in just 20 balls, smashing 2 fours and 5 sixes on the way.

Dube, however, departed in the very next ball as he holed out to long off off the bowling of Kulwant Khejroliya, but Rahane at the other end was at his best too. He smashed 71 runs off 29 balls as CSK posted a huge total of 235 in their allotted 20 overs. It is the highest ever IPL total at the Eden Gardens!
