Gujarat Titans (GT) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) are all set to entertain fans in Match No. 62 of the sixteenth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Monday, May 15, 2023, at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad at 19.30 PM IST. The defending champions GT have enjoyed another great season so far under the leadership of Hardik Pandya as they have played 12 matches with 8 victories and just 4 defeats. With 16 points and a net run rate of +0.761, they are bossing the table at the top.

Last Match: GT last faced Mumbai Indians (MI) in Match No. 57 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai where the home side defeated the Titans by a margin of 27 runs.

Skipper Hardik won the toss and elected to field first. Suryakumar Yadav stole the show yet again this time with a magnificent century. The right-handed batter brought up his maiden ton in the IPL as he hammered 103 off just 49 with 11 fours and 6 sixes. Courtesy of his breathtaking hundred, MI posted a huge total of 218/5 on the board. Rashid Khan was the pick of the GT bowlers for his spell of 4/30 (4).

In reply, Vijay Shankar and David Miller scored 29 and 41 runs respectively but the rest of the batting line-up struggled to get going. Though, Rashid stunned everyone with his brutal knock of 79 off just 32 which included 3 fours and 10 maximums. It wasn't enough as the Titans got restricted to 191/8. Akash Madhwal picked up 3/31 (4) while spinners Piyush Chawla and Kumar Kartikeya snared 2 scalps each. For his century, Suryakumar won the Player of the Match award.

SRH in IPL 2023

It's been yet another poor campaign so far the Orange Army as they have played 11 games with just 4 wins and 7 losses. With 8 points and an NRR of -0.471, they are lingering at the ninth spot just above Delhi Capitals (DC) in the table.

Last Match: SRH played their last encounter against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in Match No. 58 in Hyderabad where the visitors won the contest by a margin of 7 wickets.

Captain Aiden Markram won the toss and elected to bat first. Anmolpreet Singh and Heinrich Klaasen amassed 36 and 47 runs respectively while Abdul Samad played a valuable knock of 37* off 25 as the Sunrisers posted a total of 182/6 on the board. 

Chasing 183, wicketkeeper batter Quinton de Kock scored 29 with Marcus Stoinis getting dismissed for 40. Prerak Mankad held the innings together as he remained not out on 64 off 45 while hard-hitter Nicholas Pooran struck 44 off just 13 as the Super Giants completed the chase in 19.2 overs. For his crucial unbeaten half-century, Mankad was adjudged with the Player of the Match award.
