In an exhilarating display of elite spin bowling, Indian veteran off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin produced his signature carrom ball delivery to outfox England wicket-keeper Ben Foakes. Ashwin took a rebound catch to scalp the visitors' penultimate wicket of the second innings.

Indian spinners unleashed fury onto the English batters on Day 3 of the Ranchi Test. With 36 runs lead, the visitors stepped out to bat in the second session. However, it proved to be Ashwin's day altogether as he initially hit England with two big blows in the fifth over.

The spin wizard removed Ben Duckett and Ollie Pope to neutralize the baseball threat. Later,Kuldeep Yadav fed on the momentum to remove England's last hope and skipper Ben Stokes.

Regardless, the Englishmen's last standing batter, Ben Foakes, tried to make a game out with the tail. He stood his ground but struggled to make an impact on the scoreboard.

Eventually, Ben Foakes' resistance was ceased by Ravichandran Ashwin's brilliance. After his initial plans failed, Ashwin pulled out his trump card, the carrom ball. He bowled his special delivery onto the fuller length. Foakes evidently failed to read the carrom ball and miscued the on-drive.

Eventually, Foakes only managed to get a thick outside edge, which rebounded back to Ashwin as the spinner completed a caught and bowled dismissal to further plummet England's hopes.

Ben Foakes was England's final proper batter who could have caused some damage had he managed to settle on the crease.

However, Ashwin knew he had to produce something special to break Foakes' resistance, and what better than his signature carrom delivery to the job just fine.

That being said, despite Ashwin's heroics, England set up close to 200 runs lead in the second innings, meaning India are in for a steep chase to stake claim on the five-game series.
