Lahore Qalandars are set to face Peshawar Zalmi in Match 12 of PSL 2024 at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Sunday, February 25.

The Qalandars, who are the defending PSL champions, have had a rocky start to their campaign, losing their first four matches. However, in their recent outing against Karachi Kings, they showed signs of resurgence by setting a competitive total of 175 runs, hinting at a potential turnaround in their fortunes.

At the forefront of Lahore's batting lineup is Sahibzada Farhan, who emerged as a formidable force in their clash against Karachi Kings with a commanding 72 off 45 balls.

Despite the underwhelming performance from his opening partner, Fakhar Zaman, who has only managed to accumulate 67 runs across four matches, Lahore is likely to extend their faith in him.

Zaman's track record as a seasoned campaigner and his reputation for game-changing innings makes him a valuable asset, warranting the team's patience.

Rassie van der Dussen, Ahsan Bhatti, Jahandad Khan, and Shai Hope are expected to provide middle-order stability, each bringing their own set of skills to the table. The all-round skills of Sikandar Raza and George Linde will be crucial for the Qalandars, with both players looking to bounce back from mixed performances in their last game.

Raza, in particular, will aim to overcome his golden duck against Karachi. At the same time, Linde will seek to balance his explosive batting with more economical bowling after his previous outing proved costly with the ball.

The fast bowling department, led by captain Shaheen Afridi alongside Haris Rauf and Zaman Khan, is a key strength for Lahore. Afridi's leadership and Rauf's recent form, especially his performance against Karachi, will be vital for the Qalandars' aspirations to climb up the standings.

Rauf, who has experienced a challenging start to the tournament, displayed his capability to lead the attack effectively and will be eager to maintain this momentum against Zalmi.

As Lahore Qalandars gear up for their encounter with Peshawar Zalmi, the team's composition and strategy show their faith in proven talents and the urgency to address their initial setbacks.

With key players looking to make impactful comebacks and the team aiming to capitalize on their recent upswing, the match promises to be a vital point in their quest to defend their title in the PSL 2024.
