One of the grittiest players from the English lineup, Skipper Ben Stokes, never gives up. However, in the ongoing third Test between India and England, Stokes got smashed in the box and fell down immediately on the ground, generating laughter from everyone on the field.

Ben Stokes Gets Smashed In The Box As Root & Indian Fielders Laugh

It all happened on the final delivery of the 29th over, bowled by Indian pacer Mohammed Siraj in the ongoing third Test at Lord's, London. Bowling to English skipper Ben Stokes, Siraj bowled a back-of-length delivery that Stokes tried to play but missed completely, as it darted right onto Stokes' box.

The left-hander got smashed in the groin and fell straight to the floor after a disgruntled reaction and a loud moan, which generated a hilarious reaction from everyone on the field, including his batting partner Joe Root.

Stokes laid flat on the ground as Indian fielders came to check on him, with a grim smile on their faces. After a moment or two, Stokes gathered himself and had a sheepish smile on his face as commentators burst into laughter, while all the players and fielders kept smiling.

Ben after finding himself back to normal, had a few words with his partner Root and came back onto the crease to resume his innings, as he was batting on the score of 7 with England having 115 on the board for the loss of four wickets, till that moment.

England Lose Root After Resilient Partnership

After removing four of their main batters in one session, India failed to capitalise in the second session for most part, as the duo of Joe Root and Ben Stokes kept piling runs without giving too many opportunities.

Despite bowling well in the channel and generating a few chances here and there, India couldn't manage to gather another wicket. However, later Root got knocked over Washington Sundar for 40, as England currently are 155/5 after the end of 43 overs.
