In the Emerging Asia Cup 2023, India and Pakistan (IND vs PAK) are battling for the title. After winning the toss, Indian captain Yash Dhull elected to bowl first, a decision that seemed to backfire as Pakistan's opening batsmen, Sahibzada Farhan and Sam Ayub, started the match with a powerful and aggressive display.
They took on the Indian bowlers, and by the 15th over, Pakistan's score had already crossed the 100-run mark. However, the Indian bowlers staged a comeback, and in this comeback, Ryan Parag played a vital role.
Riyan Parag's Two Back-To-Back Wickets
Despite having a disappointing season in the IPL, young all-rounder Ryan Parag was selected for the India A team in the Emerging Asia Cup. In the final, Parag exhibited exceptional bowling skills. Pakistan was scoring at a rapid run rate of over 6. But on two consecutive deliveries, Parag made a significant impact by claiming two crucial wickets.
First, he dismissed Omer Yousuf with an extraordinary catch on his own delivery. Parag dived to catch the ball as it looped back towards him after the batsman's shot. After a review by the third umpire, the batsman's dismissal was confirmed.
Then, when Qasim Akram came in to bat, he attempted a big shot on the very first delivery he faced, but the ball landed safely in the hands of Harshit Rana, who was deep in the field. After these two wickets, Pakistan's score stood at 183 for 4.
As of writing, the score stands at 343/8.
