In a significant development, England have won the toss and opted to bowl in the do-or-die face-off against India at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow. Both sides have gone with an unchanged playing XI.

At toss, English captain Jos Buttler stated,

"We will bowl first today. No particular reason. Just a decision made by gut. It is a great occasion to play against such a team at their home. We haven't stood up to the expectations. Today is another day to play freely and positively. Against India, in front of such a packed crowd, it's always a special feeling. We are gonna go with the same team. Thanks."

Meanwhile, Buttler’s Indian counterpart Rohit Sharma revealed that they would’ve batted first, saying,

"We wanted to bat first. We had a good time bowling first. So we wanted to bat first. It's a new surface relaid here. It stays true throughout the 100 overs. So don't mind batting first. It's important to play well and get those 2 points,"

"Whatever it takes to grab those, we are going to do that. We will be looking to start where we left off in the last game. It's good to have the break. It was a bit hectic to play those five games. Everyone was waiting for that break. We are going with the same team."
