Babar Azam expressed his respect and adulation for the legendary trio of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Kane Williamson on the sidelines of Pakistan's ICC World Cup 2023 campaign.

The Pakistan skipper, who is a rising modern-day gem with the bat in his own right, says the famed troika of Kohli, Rohit and Williamson have acted as inspirational figures in his journey at the international stage.

Speaking on Star Sports, the middle-order linchpin reinforced his deep-felt admiration for the Indian batting duo and also raved over the New Zealand giant.

While the esteemed Rohit-Kohli duo has been tremendous and stand individually among the top run-getters, Williamson is eyeing a bumper comeback from an ACL injury to peak at the business end of the ongoing tournament.

Babar Azam Expresses Awe For Kohli, Rohit, Williamson Trio

All three players alongside England's Joe Root and Australian Steve Smith have been the best five players in the world over a long period of time with Babar constantly pushing his case as the sixth member of the famed pack.

Babar unveiled his admiration for the great trio during an interactive exercise for Star Sports when asked to name his favourite batters in world cricket.

"Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Kane Williamson are my favourite batters in the world. They're the top players in the world. They read the conditions well, that's why they are the best. I admire them. The best thing I like about Virat, Rohit and Kane is how they get the team out of difficult situations and score runs against tough bowling. This is what I try to learn from them," he said.

Babar would be looking to replicate the resilience and attitude of Kohli, Rohit and Williamson as he strives to comeback to his best form at the ICC World Cup 2023. With Pakistan on the brink of tournament exit, they need their batting hero to rise to the task after struggling his way to just 207 runs in six innings of a high-scoring tournament for the 1992 champions.
