Before the highly anticipated clash between India and England on Sunday, October 29, Team India received a significant boost as Indian skipper Rohit Sharma has been declared fully fit for the match in Lucknow.

During one of the practice sessions, Rohit was hit on the right wrist, causing slight discomfort. He was promptly attended to by Team India's physio, raising concerns about his availability for the match against England.

While some reports suggested he might be ruled out of the marquee clash, the latest report from RevSportz indicates that Rohit batted normally after the wrist injury in the nets. This suggests there's no need to worry, and he will be ready to take the field on Sunday.

"The Indian captain batted normally after getting hit on his wrist at the nets yesterday. Nothing to worry about as he will take the field for the 100th time as Indian captain,"  as quoted by RevSportz.

Monumental game for Rohit

The upcoming match against England holds special significance for the 36-year-old, as it will mark Rohit's 100th match as Team India's captain.

He will become the seventh Indian captain to lead the team in 100 games. Rohit has led India in nine Tests, 39 ODIs, and 51 T20Is since assuming the captaincy in 2017.

From being dropped from the 2011 World Cup squad to leading his team in a World Cup, Rohit's journey has been remarkable.

Under Rohit Sharma's leadership, Team India has excelled in the ongoing World Cup, winning all five matches they have played.

With 10 points in five matches, the Men in Blue remain undefeated and are strong contenders to lift the trophy. Rohit has showcased his brilliance with both his tactical captaincy and his performance with the bat.

The Indian opener has been in outstanding form during the tournament, amassing 311 runs in five matches at an average of 62.20.

A victory against England on Sunday would all but secure India's place in the semi-finals and simultaneously eliminate the defending champions from the tournament.
