In the second Test between India and Australia at the Adelaide Oval, Indian captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and opted to bat first against the hosts. This is a Pink-Ball Test, and it's crucial for both teams in the World Test Championship (WTC). India lead the series 1-0, while Australia are aiming to bounce back.

India made three changes to their lineup: Captain Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, and Ravichandran Ashwin replaced Dhruv Jurel, Devdutt Padikkal, and Washington Sundar. On the other hand, Australia made one change, with Scott Boland replacing Josh Hazlewood, who is out due to a side strain.

It is worth mentioning that Rohit Sharma is making his comeback after missing the first Test to be with his family for the birth of his second child. He will be part of the second Test, but this time, he will bat in the middle order.

India Vs Australia 2nd Test: Captains' Thoughts

Pat Cummins (Australia Captain): "Yeah, that is right (would have batted first). But you know Day 1, pink-ball, it might nip around a bit. It is always good to have a fresh start, we love playing here. We had success here.

Rohit Sharma (India Captain): "We would like to bat first. Looks a good pitch. Obviously looks a little dry at the moment but there's enough grass coverage as well. It will have some carry for the fast bowlers but as the game goes on it will get better to bat and there will be something for everyone. Its gonna be a good game.
