Sharjah Warriorz snapped its four-match losing streak by decimating Dubai Capitals in match number 23 of the ILT20 2025 season at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Tom Kohler-Cadmore and Johnson Charles feasted big in the run-chase after Warriorz’ Australian-based spinners Adam Zampa and Ashton Agar spun a web around the Capitals batters.

Dubai Capitals openers Adam Rossington and Shai Hope got their team off to a flier with a 60-run opening stand from just seven overs. Rossington belted four boundaries and two sixes in his 23-ball 37 at the top of the order before top-edging one towards Sharjah Warriorz captain Tim Southee off Adam Zampa.

The Australian spinner also trapped Capitals’ number three Gulbadin Naib in his following over to pick up his second wicket of the evening.

After Adam Zampa doused Dubai Capitals’ early momentum, his spin colleagues Ashton Agar (1-14) and Rohan Mustafa (2-12) further strangulated their run flow by bagging the key wickets of Sikandar Raza, Khalid Shah and Dasun Shanaka.

Rovman Powell belted three boundaries and two huge sixes in the slog overs to make 32* off 16 balls, but a wicket each for Tim Southee (1-31) and Adam Milne (1-17) restricted the Dubai Capitals to just 131-9 by the completion of their innings.

Sharjah Warriorz openers Tom Kohler-Cadmore and Johnson Charles smeared out an attacking 123-run partnership for the opening wicket from just 10 overs. Charles initiated Warriorz’ run-chase fury with a sequence of eight extraordinary sixes and three elegant boundaries.

The hard-hitting West Indies opening batter bludgeoned 71 runs from just 33 balls to flatten Dubai Capitals’ dwindling prospects, before the cricketer was caught out over deep midwicket by Najibullah Zadran off Sikandar Raza.

Johnson Charles opening partner Tom Kohler-Cadmore also muscled a scintillating half-century in the run-chase, making 54 unbeaten runs in all from just 32 deliveries with eight boundaries and a couple of huge sixes. Kohler-Cadmore belted the last of those boundaries to bring up the winning runs for the Sharjah Warriorz as Tim Southee’s troops snapped their four-match losing streak this ILT20 2025 season.

Avishka Fernando at number three made 3* after the dismissal of Johnson Charles as the Warriorz overhauled its 132-run target with nine wickets and 8.1 overs to spare.
