In a significant development, Australia's star spinner and 2023 World Cup winner Adam Zampa has penned a deal with Sharjah Warriorz to play in the third season of ILT20. The right-arm leg-spinner, who was recently seen in BBL, has replaced injured Kusal Mendis for the entire season.
Sharjah Warriorz Announce Signing Adam Zampa for ILT20 2025
The Warriorz took to social media platforms to announce the arrival of Zampa for the remaining season. "He's loaded with all the tricks up his sleeves. Zampa is now a warrior," wrote Warriorz on their Instagram post.
Zampa boast an illustrious career as he was Australia's primary spinner in 2023 World Cup, where he took 23 wickets in 11 matches and was the 2nd leading wicket-taker in the tournament.
Zampa Reflects On Joining Warriorz
At present, the Warriorz are struggling in the ILT20 and are placed last on the table. Thus, Zampa reflected on his arrival and remarked that there is a lot of work left to get back on track.
“I am delighted to be returning to the UAE and joining the Sharjah Warriorz for the Season 3 of the DP World ILT20. The Warriorz are among the best franchises in the tournament and I am looking forward to working alongside the likes of Adil Rashid, Tim Southee and JP Duminy. I am confident that, we will do well as a team and produce some fantastic performances for our fans in the second half of the tournament,” said Adam Zampa.
