NZ vs SA: Quinton de Kock highlights His approach after fourth WC century

Playing on a difficult pitch, de Kock demonstrated maturity, leading South Africa to a dominant position with his 114 off 116 balls, filled with 10 boundaries and 3 maximums.

Post the innings, de Kock expressed satisfaction with his performance, highlighting the challenge he faced from New Zealand's bowlers, particularly Trent Boult, in the early phase of his innings. He mentioned that he felt out of rhythm initially but received encouraging advice from his teammates to persist and anchor the innings.

"Yes. I think so. I'm feeling good lately. I'm happy that everything is coming up nicely at the right time for us. They bowled really well up front, especially Boulty. I was scratchy and couldn't get my rhythm. I got messages from the guys in the dugout to bat through and stay till the end,” said de Kock.

Highlighting his approach to batting long, de Kock shared his determination to make the most of the diminishing years of his cricket career. On the topic of their massive total, de Kock expressed optimism that if the pitch conditions remain consistent, the score of 350 should be a challenging one for the opposition.

“I'm trying to give it my all while batting. Just trying to bat long and my career is coming down. So trying to bat as long as possible. I hope so. If the wicket stays the same, the total will be enough. In the last games, we saw the wicket got better to bat under lights. 350 is always a good total. Let's hope we defend it tonight,” concluded the southpaw.

Adding to the team's robust performance, Rassie van der Dussen's magnificent 133 and David Miller's explosive 53 contributed significantly to South Africa's impressive 357/4 in 50 overs. The Proteas will be hoping their bowlers can defend this strong total as they eye another victory in the World Cup.
