India and Gujarat Titans opener Shubman Gill is relishing the opportunity to bat alongside an experienced campaigner and his opening partner, Wriddhiman Saha.

Gill and Saha were in imperious form on Sunday afternoon as they sent the Lucknow SuperGiants fielders on a leather hunt during their majestic 142-run stand.

Saha was the aggressor initially, but it didn't bother Gill much, as he played himself in, before unleashing a brutal onslaught.

Gill batted through the 20 overs and ended up with an unbeaten 94 off 51 deliveries.

The young opener is known for hitting more fours than sixes, but, on Sunday, he took the aerial route more often than not, smoking 7 sixes in the process.

Shubman was rightly adjudged the "Player of the Match" where he mentioned that he revealed that he has been working on his 6-hitting ability.

Here's what Shubman Gill said:

"Just to be able to share his (Saha) experience, I stand next to him at slip, it is phenomenal with the way he keeps going, he's been playing since the first IPL season. I didn't get much to bat in the first few overs but it is important to not get carried away with what your partner is doing. I had not hit sixes in the last two matches and today I struck a few, I always keep working on my skills,"

Gill was also full of praise for his bowling attack, which proceeded to defend 227 with ease despite LSG getting off to a good start in the powerplay.

"They were going well in the powerplay but our bowlers bowled well especially Mohit bhai. They restrict their batting lineup to under 180 which was a great effort,"

Gill is in the midst of a sensational IPL campaign. In 11 matches, he has already racked up 469 runs @ 46.90/143.43 with the help of 4 50+ scores, and GT will hope he continues his prolific run as the season approaches its business end.
