Towhid Hridoy delivered a stunning maiden ODI century (100 off 118 balls) in the Champions Trophy 2025 clash against India at the Dubai International Stadium, steering Bangladesh to a competitive total after a horrendous start.   

Hridoy Anchors Bangladesh After Top-Order Collapse 

Winning the toss and opting to bat, Bangladesh found themselves in deep trouble early on. Mohammed Shami struck in the very first over, dismissing Soumya Sarkar, before Harshit Rana removed skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto for a duck. Mehidy Hasan Miraz followed soon after, before Axar Patel inflicted further damage by dismissing Tanzid Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim. 

With Bangladesh reeling at a precarious position, Hridoy walked in under pressure and steadied the innings alongside Jaker Ali and rebuilt Bangladesh’s innings with patience and resilience.   

Towhid Hridoy started cautiously, absorbing the pressure before accelerating once he settled in. However, as he approached his milestone, cramps threatened to derail his knock. Despite the physical discomfort, Hridoy showed immense grit and determination, eventually reaching the three-figure mark, ensuring Bangladesh posted a respectable total on the board.
