Ben Stokes and Ravindra Jadeja - (Source : @Johns/X.com)
It is all happening at Old Trafford in Manchester, as Ravindra Jadeja has refused Ben Stokes' offer to end the match in a draw. Notably, after the end of the 138th over, the umpire allowed both teams to shake hands and end the match.
Ben Stokes was willing to end the game and approached Jadeja to shake hands. However, the southpaw rejected the offer as he was 11 runs away from completing his century. The incident didn't go well with Ben Stokes and his men as they were not expecting India to refuse his offer.
Jadeja's Act Irks English Stars
The act did not go well with Ben Stokes and his side and irked a few cricketers. Notably, Stokes himself exchanged a few words with Jadeja and Washington Sundar.
Ben Duckett also got involved before the play resumed, as there were still 15 overs left to bowl in the match when Stokes made that offer.
The act definitely irked England as Stokes had asked Harry Brook to bowl the remaining spell. Further, Brook bowled at 58 kmph and almost invited the two batters to complete their century.
Eventually, Jadeja reached his milestone in style as he whacked a six off Harry Brook's over to bring up his hundred. Also, Sundar too found Brook the suitable bowler to get to his century.
Jadeja-Sundar Partnership Help India Stay Alive In Series
Notably, India were reduced to 222/4 and England were in pole position to win the match. However, Jadeja and Sundar stitched an unbeaten stand of 203 runs to help India draw the match.
With the drawn game, the series is now poised with India trailing 1-2. It all goes down to Kia Oval, where India would look to level things.
