Bangladesh's pacer Hasan Mahmud claimed a fifer in the third ODI against Ireland before their openers finished the game with 10 wickets to spare.

Pacers decimate Irish batting line-up

Choosing to bat first on Sylhet wicket, Ireland were under pressure right from the start as the Tigers' pacers steamed in with their quality pace attack as they made the life of batters difficult. Under cloudy skies in the initial half, Hasan Mahmud fired in with quick scalps of the top-order batters.

The right-armer was decent enough with the ball to pick the figures of 5/32 in 8.1 overs as he was supported well by his compatriots Taskin Ahmed and Ebadot Hossain who bagged 3 and 2 wickets each, respectively.

At one stage, Ireland were 26 for four when Lorcan Tucker and Curtis Campher came to the crease together forming a 42-run stand for the fifth wicket. Individually, Tucker scored 28 whereas Campher was resilient with his 36.

Apart from them, no one could even reach the double-figure mark on the scorecard as they folded for just 101 inside 29 overs.

Moreover, this was the first time ever that Bangladeshi quicks picked the entire ten wickets in a game.

Bangladesh openers ease the chase

Requiring 102 for victory, openers Tamim Iqbal and Litton Das were on fire right from the start as they scored some quick runs. Both the batters got wonderful starts as the target started to look small.

Tamim thumped 41 off 41 balls with two sixes and five fours along with Litton who recorded his ninth ODI fifty from 38 deliveries as he smashed ten fours during his knock.

None of the bowlers was able to penetrate the opposition as the Tigers won by a margin of 10 wickets for the first time in their history that too within 14 overs.

Brief Score:

Ireland: 101/10 (28.1 Overs)

Curtis Campher 36 (48), Lorcan Tucker 28 (31);
Hasan Mahmud 5/32 (8.1), Taskin Ahmed 3/26 (10)

Bangladesh: 102/0 (13.1 Overs)

Litton Das 50* (38), Tamim Iqbal 41 (41);
Graham Hume 0/15 (3)
