Harry Brook says he used powerplay to his advantage

After the SRH innings, Harry Brook revealed how he overcame his dry run with the bat this season. The attacking batter was dismissed to spin wizards Yuzvendra Chahal and Ravi Bishnoi in the first two games for SRH, against Rajasthan Royals and Lucknow Super Giants respectively.

In his next outing, he was castled by Punjab Kings ace speedster Arshdeep Singh.

Brook stated that he used the powerplay overs against KKR upfront to overcome his spin troubles. He added that he simply rotated the strike in the middle stages of the innings, while allowing other batters to catapult the scoring rate.

The youngster acknowledged the favourable batting conditions on offer at the Eden Gardens, and was vary of KKR’s firepower in the run-chase. He said:

“I’ve had a bit of trouble with spin, but I wanted to use the powerplay to my advantage. So middle overs wanted to rotate strike and let the other boys do the hitting. It is a belter of a pitch, we need to bowl our lengths rightly and take wickets. We still got a job to do. My girlfriend is here but the rest of my family have just left, I’m sure they’ll all be very happy for me.”
