Hardik Pandya was struck on 99 T20I wickets before the 3rd T20I vs the South African side, and in the Dharamsala match, the Indian all-rounder bagged the coveted feat as he became just the third Indian to take 100 wickets in the T20Is. He joined Jasprit Bumrah and Arshdeep Singh in the elusive list.
Hardik took the wicket of Tristan Stubbs in the 3rd T2OI to accomplish the feat as he attained the milestone in his 123rd T2OI match. Bumrah achieved the feat in the first T20I match of the series, and Hardik followed him in the 3rd clash, showcasing his prowess as an all-rounder.
For India, Arshdeep leads the charts with 108 wickets, followed by Bumrah (101), and Hardik (100) wickets. Before the T20I series, Hardik and Bumrah were fighting to become the second Indian bowler to reach the century milestone, but the pacer reached there first, with Hardik settling for the third place.
Hardik Pandya's T20I journey so far
Having made his T20I debut in the same series as Bumrah, Hardik Pandya has come a long way in the last nine years playing for India. His all-round prowess has been there for all to see as the Baroda cricketer has played 123 matches and has reached the century mark with an average of 26, and an economy rate of 8.23.
Moreover, apart from his bowling skills, Hardik has been brilliant with the bat for India in T20Is, scoring 1939 runs, with a strike rate of 141.53.
He was also vital in India’s 2024 T20I World Cup campaign as his death overs spell was crucial in the finale victory against the South African side.
