In a significant development, India won the toss and opted to bowl in the third T20I against South Africa at the picturesque HPCA stadium in Dharamsala. At toss, Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav revealed that the hosts have made two changes to their playing XI from the last game, with Jasprit Bumrah and Axar Patel making room for Harshit Rana and Kuldeep Yadav, respectively.

After winning the toss and choosing to bowl first, Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav stated that Jasprit Bumrah would miss the crucial clash due to family reasons. Later, the BCCI issued a statement on the Indian pace spearhead, revealing Bumrah has flown back to his home and an update on his re-joining will be released in due course.
"Jasprit Bumrah has gone back home for personal reasons and will be unavailable for the game. An update on him joining the squad for the remaining matches will be provided in due course," the BCCI stated.

Hailed for his ability to generate substantial movement and hit the deck hard, Jasprit Bumrah hasn't been at his absolute best in the T20I series against South Africa. The right-arm pacer has bagged only two wickets at an ordinary strike rate of 21 and an economy of 8.86.
While the BCCI didn't disclose the exact reason behind Bumrah's unavailability for the third T20I, Harshit Rana has replaced the seasoned campaigner in the Indian playing XI. Meanwhile, the Indian cricket board also confirmed Axar Patel's illness, with the hosts roping in Kuldeep Yadav as his replacement.
