Jasprit Bumrah is arguably India’s greatest all-format bowler, and the right-arm seamer, on Tuesday, created history and became just the second Indian bowler to hit the century milestone in T20Is. He bagged the wicket of the dangerous Dewald Brevis and became just the second Indian pacer after Arshdeep Singh to take 100 wickets in this format.
Moreover, he also became the first Indian bowler to scalp 100 wickets across all three formats (Tests, ODIs, and T20Is). Heading into the first T20I, Bumrah needed just a solitary wicket to create history and Brevis’ wicket helped him to enter an elusive list of the Indian bowlers with 100 T20I wickets.
The other international pacers with 100 wickets across formats are Tim Southee, Lasith Malinga, Shakib Al Hasan, and Shaheen Afridi.

Bumrah has now entered an exclusive list comprising some of the best bowlers of this generation. While the old guards in Lasith Malinga, Shakib Al Hasan, and Tim Southee have made a name for themselves, the current generation of bowlers in Shaheen Afridi and Bumrah have also carved a name across formats.
With his 100th wicket, Bumrah also became the sixth fastest to attain the landmark, with his teammate, Arshdeep Singh, the fastest (64 innings), and Bumrah reaching the milestone in 81 matches.
Jasprit Bumrah's T20I journey
Having made his T20I debut against Australia in 2016, the Indian seamer has become an integral member of the Men in Blue. He has been India’s bowling spearhead and the bowler showed his all-round class during the T20 World Cup in 2024 as India captured the title and the pacer was adjudged the Player of the Tournament.
In 81 matches, Bumrah has bagged 101 wickets, at an average of 17.92, and an economy of just 6.35.
