On Day 3 of the second Test at Trent Bridge, Alzarri Joseph delivered a fiery, high-speed delivery that had a significant impact on Ollie Pope's bat.

In the third over of England's second innings, the right-arm pacer unleashed a thunderbolt at 143 kph, targeting Pope with precision.

The delivery was full and aimed at the off-stump. As Ollie Pope lunged forward to meet the ball, he encountered a remarkable piece of pace bowling.

The delivery struck the bottom of Pope's bat, causing a chunk of the bat's toe end to splinter off. The ball, which narrowly missed the off-stump, caused the broken piece to fall away, leaving Pope momentarily shaken.

Pope promptly requested a replacement bat as the damaged piece rendered his current bat unplayable.

At the time of writing, England holds an 31-run lead, with Ben Duckett and Ollie Pope at the crease. They have managed to stabilize their position after the West Indies, led by strong performances from Kavem Hodge (120) and Alick Athanaze (82), had posted a formidable 457 runs in their first innings.
