The Trent Rockets Women and the London Spirit Women locked horns in the 20th match of The Women's Hundred 2024. This match was being played at the Trent Bridge in Nottingham.

The London Spirit won the toss and put the Trent Rockets into bat. The young English talent, Grace Scrivens led the charge with the bat for the Rockets. She scored 55 runs off 43 balls and laid the foundation of a big score for the team. The Rockets built on her efforts and were able to post a formidable total of 158/5 in their 100 balls. 

The star Indian all-rounder, Deepti Sharma, who is a part of the London Spirit team, had a good time with the ball in hand. She picked up the two most important wickets of the opposition in Nat Sciver-Brunt and Ashleigh Gardner, while conceding 25 runs in her quota of 20 balls.

In the chase, the Spirit fell weak from the very beginning as they lost regular wickets. Deepti walked out to bat when the team's score was 63/4 and 96 runs were still needed of 48 deliveries. Deepti tried to hold one end and take the team closer to the target. But she fell short of partners as the Spirit kept on losing wickets. Deepti remained unbeaten till the end with a score of 30 from 23 deliveries. Despite, the efforts of the Indian star, the Spirit managed to score only 127/7 in their 100 balls and lost the match by 31 runs. 

This was the second defeat of the London Spirit Women in five games. They are currently at the fourth spot in the points table. Deepti Sharma and her team will need to step up their game very soon to remain in contention for the title.
