It was a gigantic effort from the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) to bang a mammoth total of 235 against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) with special efforts from Devon Conway, Ajinkya Rahane and Shivam Dube. KKR bowlers had no answers to CSK's batting prowess with all of them getting tonked around the park.

However, right before the start of the second innings, the MS Dhoni-led franchise have called in the left-arm pacer Akash Singh as the impact player in place of Ambati Rayudu.

Akash was handed the bowl at the start and he delivered big time to grab the opening wicket on the fourth delivery to dismiss Sunil Narine for a duck.

Earlier in the tournament, Akash joined the side as a replacement for injured Mukesh Chaudhary and has been doing well in the competition. Previously, he dismissed Royal Challengers Bangalore's (RCB) Virat Kohli in the very first over to take his side ahead in a high-scoring encounter.

In the four matches he has featured in this season, Singh has bagged five wickets at a striking rate of 20.

Meanwhile, Rayudu didn't get to bat in this game with CSK losing just four wickets during their entire innings.

By the time of writing, KKR were 20 for 2 after the end of three overs.
