After a long and animated chat between the match officials and Gujarat's think tank, it has been decided by the umpires and the match referee to give the groundsmen some extra time to soak up the wet field. As a result, it been officially stated that the next inspection will be held at 11:30 PM IST before the IPL 2023 final could restart at Ahmedabad on Monday.

It is understood that if the match starts within 15 minutes of the next inspection, then it will be a full 20-over game, which is what the match referee is keen on.

However, if it is delayed further, we will start losing overs.

During the first inspection done by the officials at 10:45 PM IST, it was seen that the onfield had some nasty wet patches, due to which the umpires -Nitin Menon & Rod Tucker - and the match referee Javagal Srinath decided to give the groundsmen more time to play the field game ready. However, meanwhile, during the inspection, GT's skipper Hardik Pandya and the think tank members were in a super-animated mode, while most of the CSK men were relaxing inside their dressing.

Having said that, the Titans have posted the highest-ever total scored in an IPL final - 214/4, thanks to enthralling batting performances from Sai Sudharsan (96 off 47), Wriddhiman Saha (54), Shubman Gill (39) and captain Pandya's quickfire 21*.
