Every once in a while, cricket gives us a moment that makes us go, “Did that just happen?” Mohammad Rizwan gave us exactly that in the third ODI against South Africa at the Wanderers on Sunday.

With one wicket needed to complete a 3-0 whitewash, Rizwan pulled off a moment that fans won’t stop talking about anytime soon.

'Chalo Ji, Out!': Rizwan Calls It Like A Boss

South Africa were nine wickets down, and on the verge of a humiliating loss at 271/9. Pakistan needed one more to wrap things up. Sufiyan Muqeem was about to bowl, and from behind the stumps, Mohammad Rizwan yelled, “Chalo ji, out!” as if he already knew what was coming.

Muqeem bowled a perfect full-length delivery straight at the stumps. Kewna Maphaka went for the drive, but the ball slipped under his bat and smashed into the stumps. Pakistan erupted in celebrations while Rizwan’s bold call became the stuff of legends.

SA vs PAK 3rd ODI Highlights

Meanwhile, the match was reduced to 47 overs per side after rain delayed the start, but Pakistan’s batters made the most of their time at the crease. Saim Ayub was the star, smashing his third ODI century with pure class. Babar Azam and Rizwan chipped in with steady fifties, while Salman Agha added 48 crucial runs to the total.

By the end of their innings, Pakistan had posted a solid 307 on the board. It was a score that gave their bowlers plenty to work with, and they didn’t disappoint.

Defending 307, Pakistan’s bowlers came out firing. Sufiyan Muqeem was the pick of the lot, grabbing four wickets and keeping South Africa’s batters under pressure. Shaheen Afridi and Naseem Shah chipped in with one wicket each, giving the hosts no breathing room.

South Africa tried to fight back, with Heinrich Klaasen leading the chase. He smashed a blistering 81 off just 43 balls, but it wasn’t enough. Tony de Zorzi, Rassie van der Dussen, Marco Jansen, and Corbin Bosch all got starts, but none of them could play the big innings South Africa desperately needed.

Rizwan’s Captaincy On Fire

Under Rizwan, Pakistan has been unstoppable. After a 2-1 series win in Australia, they’ve now completed a clean sweep in South Africa. This is the first time South Africa has ever been whitewashed at home in ODIs.
