Mohammad Rizwan once again proved why he is considered one of Pakistan finest wicket-keepers. Known for his sharp reflexes and unrelenting dedication, Rizwan pulled off a Dhoni-esque moment during the 3rd ODI against South Africa at The Wanderers Stadium, Johannesburg, on December 23.

The spectacular catch happened in the 21st over of South Africa's innings. Saim Ayub was bowling to middle-order batter David Miller when Rizwan’s quick thinking stole the show. On the fifth ball, a good-length delivery on the stumps, Miller attempted a paddle scoop. Anticipating the shot, Rizwan swiftly moved to a leg-slip position, took the ball on his chest, and clutched it with both gloves.

The stunning effort sent Miller back to the pavilion with just 3 runs off 6 balls.

Rain-Interrupted Match Packed With Drama

Earlier in the match, South Africa chose to bowl first after a delayed start due to rain. The match was reduced to 47 overs per side. Pakistan’s innings saw Abdullah Shafique creating an unfortunate record as the first opener to score three consecutive ducks in an ODI series. However, Saim Ayub shone again, smashing his second century of the series, with excellent support from Babar Azam and Rizwan, who both scored fifties. A late cameo from Agha Salman and Tayyab Tahir helped Pakistan post a challenging total of 308/9. Kagiso Rabada led South Africa’s bowling attack, claiming three wickets.

South Africa’s revised target was 308 under the DLS method. Despite Heinrich Klaasen’s explosive 81 off 43 balls, the hosts fell short. Pakistan bowlers, led by debutant Sufiyan Muqeem with a four-wicket haul, bowled out South Africa for 271 in 42 overs, securing a 36-run win (DLS) and a 3-0 series sweep.
