On Tuesday, April 29, South African women locked horns against India Women at the Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. The Harmanpreet Kaur-led side won the toss and opted to bat first. Pratika Rawal, who came to open the innings, scored 78 (91), which featured seven fours and a solitary six. Her knock helped India put 276 runs on the board. 

In reply, South Africa got off to the perfect start as openers Laura Wolvaardt and Tazmin Brits stitched a 140-run stand for the opening wicket. Meanwhile, Brits hogged the internet as she smashed a century and became the South African star in WODI history to slam a hundred against India. 

Tazmin Brits Joins An Elite List

Brits knock featured 13 fours and three sixes. It was her third ODI century overall. Talking about scripting milestones, Tazmin joined the elite list of Marizane Kapp, Laura Wolverdaat, and L Lee, who also have a century against India. Tazmin was presented with a lifeline by Indian skipper Harmanpreet Kaur as she dropped Brits on 67. Further, the South Africa opener had the opportunity to smash the highest individual score against India, but she was retired hurt on 108 (105) and returned to the pavilion. She was going well, but took a blow and was in immense pain, which ended her innings prematurely.
