Jasprit Bumrah’s presence once tilted matches in India’s favour before a ball was even bowled. But in the T20Is in recent times, Bumrah’s fierce aura is missing, as in the last T20I match against South Africa, fans missed his yorker magic.
As the Men in Blue are set to face the Proteas in Dharamsala in the third T20I, the ace pacer was seen sharpening his skills. On Saturday evening, Bumrah was spotted in an intense practice session, relentlessly perfecting his deadly yorkers.
Bumrah cranks up the heat in a high-intensity net session
Since Jasprit Bumrah made his debut for the Indian side, the Men in Blue discovered their bravest pace warrior. Across the formats, the ace pacer showcased his skills, and the opponent batters faced the heat of his vintage yorkers. But in recent T20Is, that most trusted weapon has strangely misfired, leaving the world stunned.
In the last T20I match against South Africa, Bumrah’s struggle with the yorker was seen. He failed to get a single breakthrough, and he conceded 45 runs in the allotted four overs. As the next match is commencing soon, he was seen dazzling in the Dharamsala nets, sharpening his deadly weapons for a fierce comeback.
According to the Times of India report, at the HPCA Stadium, he set up his own practice nets on the center square and practiced yorkers without any batters. It was just Jasprit Bumrah and his burning mission to reclaim yorker dominance, with bowling coach Morne Morkel closely watching every delivery.
For 45 sharp minutes, Bumrah went unstoppable in his fierce net session. Bumrah's T20I struggle started when he came back to the format in the Asia Cup 2025 after a long gap. Now, with a statement comeback in sight, the Indian ace is pushing himself to rediscover his lethal yorker mastery.
India eye a plot twist in Dharamsala
After a dominating victory in the first T20I match, Team India faced a horrific defeat in the second T20I. A nightmarish bowling display allowed South Africa to pile up a daunting 213, and India’s chase unraveled into chaos. Apart from Tilak Varma’s 62, the entire batting lineup collapsed against the lethal Protea bowling attack and faced a 51-run defeat.
With that victory, South Africa leveled the series by a 1-1 margin. As the third T20I match of the series is scheduled for December 14, both sides will face each other again in Dharamsala. Leading the charge, Suryakumar Yadav and his men will be desperate to fight back and reclaim the series lead.
