Zimbabwe blanked Afghanistan in just two-and-half days to claim the one-off Test in Harare. Much like Brad Evans in the first innings, fellow paceman Richard Ngarava picked up a five-wicket haul on Day 3 as Zimbabwe secured a comfortable innings victory.

Here, we take a look at the entire one-off Test match between Zimbabwe and Afghanistan, as it panned out at the Harare Sports Club in Harare between Monday, October 20 and Wednesday, October 22.

Brad Evans and Muzarabani run through Afghanistan

Zimbabwe fast bowler and comeback man Brad Evans ran through the Afghanistan line-up with a sensational five-wicket haul, claiming overall figures of 5-22 from his 9.3 overs. Fellow pacer Blessing Muzarabani also picked up three wickets as Zimbabwe skittled Afghanistan for just 127 shortly after the conclusion of the first session of the match.

Curran tons up to mount lead with Sikandar despite Rahman’s 7

Zimbabwe aggregated 359 in 103 overs during their first innings to mount a huge 232-run lead over Afghanistan by Day 2. Opening batter Ben Curran compiled 121 off 256 balls with 15 boundaries, while Sikandar Raza punched out a quick 65 off 88 deliveries. For Afghanistan, Ziaur Rahman himself picked up figures of 7-97 on his Test debut.

Richard Ngarava and Muzarabani decimate Zimbabwe

Richard Ngarava, who went wicketless on Day 1, picked up a five-wicket haul in the second Afghanistan innings on the third day. The cricketer dismissed Abdul Malik, Ibrahim Zadran and Hashmatullah Shahidi before mopping up the visitor’s tail.

Blessing Muzarabani also picked up three to claim six for the match as Zimbabwe folded up Afghanistan for just 159 in 43 to overs to secure a huge victory by an innings and 73 runs.
