The past month set women’s cricket on fire, delivering edge-of-the-seat thrillers that kept fans hooked. India Women’s five-match T20I series against Sri Lanka Women turned heads as the Women in Blue registered a dominating clean sweep against the Women in Blue.

Even amid India’s dominant series triumph, Deepti Sharma faced a bittersweet moment as Australia’s Annabel Sutherland leapfrogged her to seize the No.1 spot in the ICC Women’s T20I bowling rankings. Apart from this, ICC’s ranking faced some major changes.

Annabel Sutherland knocks Deepti Sharma off the throne

After the ODI World Cup win in November 2025, the India Women's side is in clinical form as they registered a thrilling T20I series win against Sri Lanka Women. Facing the opponent on home soil, the Women in Blue turned every game into a statement of dominance. As the world witnessed their brilliance, Deepti Sharma faced a setback.

Despite taking five wickets in five games, she faced a slump in the ICC T20I bowling ranking as Australia’s Annabel Sutherland dethroned her from the top position. As Deepti is standing in the second position with 735 points, Sutherland claimed the top position with 736 points.

Adding to this, Indian bowler Renuka Singh Thakur faced a five-spot drop, standing at the 11th position. Radha Yadav also slid two spots to No.18, adding to India’s ranking worries. After wrapping up the series, ICC’s latest ranking update has been disappointing for the India Women’s side.

Harmanpreet, Arundhati climb up in ICC rankings

The bowlers may face disappointment in the recent ICC rankings, but the batters made some noticeable improvements. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur impressed with 130 runs in 5 innings, including a classy half-century, climbing two spots to 13th with 634 points.

Adding to this, Jemimah Rodrigues faced a slump as he slipped two positions to 12th position with 636 points. But Arundhati Reddy saw a massive jump in the ICC’s all-rounder’s ranking.

In the last T20I match against Sri Lanka Women, she played an unbeaten knock of 27 runs in only 11 deliveries and also took one wicket while conceding 16 runs. Her all-round brilliance propelled her up the ICC all-rounder rankings, skyrocketing 44 spots to 21st with 103 points.
