During a recent RR vs KKR IPL game held in Guwahati, a pitch invader touched Riyan Parag’s feet and hugged him to show his appreciation for the batter. However, fans had interesting reactions on social media, calling it a PR stunt by Parag.

RR appointed Riyan Parag as stand-in captain for the first three games of the IPL 2025 season as Sanju Samson is nursing a finger injury. In his debut as IPL captain, he faced a brutal 44-run defeat against SRH.

Meanwhile, Parag returned to his home ground in Guwahati for RR’s game against KKR. In the second inning, a heartwarming moment unfolded.

Pitch Invader Hugs, Touches Riyan Parag’s Feet

RR posted 151 runs on the board batting first. In the second inning, KKR had a strong start as Quinton de Kock hit a half-century. Amid the gripping contest, a fan from the stands breached security and jumped into the ground.

The pitch invader rushed to Riyan Parag and touched his feet and also hugged him before security took him out. The moment demonstrated the love people of Guwahati have for their homeboy. 

However, fans on social media mocked Parag instead with sarcastic messages, with many users calling it a PR game.
