Riyan Parag's casual run-out (Source:@kuchnahi1269083/X.com)
Riyan Parag, the captain of Rajasthan Royals is known for his batting skills, but he has been a handy bowler in domestic cricket for a long time, and is now trying to show it at the international level too. He did not pick wickets in his initial two overs, but bowled economically and that helped build pressure on KKR batters.
Moeen Ali Falls After Scratchy Start
Moeen Ali, especially was struggling to get going, and eventually on the first ball of the seventh over, the Englishman departed. His wicket came off a run-out and it was quite a causal one where no one actually was confident when they appealed.
It was a shortish delivery on off, and Ali punched it towards deep extra cover. Moeen wanted second, but Quinton de Kock, denied it and the Englishman had to rush back to the bowling crease. Theekshana fired in a throw at the bowler's end and Riyan Parag, very caususally whipped the bails off.
He thought that Moeen Ali is inside the crease, and almost everyone thought the same. However, the replays displayed other side of the picture, and Moeen was out of the crease, giving RR their much-needed first breakthrough.
The Target for KKR is not big enough though as Rajasthan Royals scored only 151 in the first innings. The spinners did the job for KKR, and thus RR spinners are also expected to make big impact.
