Bangladesh’s ace spinner Nahida Akter pulled off a sensational fielding effort off her own bowling on Wednesday (July 24) when they met Malaysia in Match 11 of the Women’s Asia Cup 2024 at Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium, Dambulla.

With that, Malaysia’s well-set Elsa Hunter had to depart, as they found Bangladesh too hot to handle while coming to chase a challenging target of 192.

The wicket came during the sixth over of Malaysia's innings, when Akter, coming to bowl around the wicket, bowled a short delivery outside the off stump. Hunter tried to push it towards leg side, only to find a leading edge towards the bowler.

Akter jumped perfectly, and plucked an excellent diving catch.
