The third ODI between Bangladesh Women and India Women ended in a dramatic tie. Riding on the back of Fargana Hoque's century, followed by some late fireworks with the balls, Bangladesh Women snatched a series win from India Women in a last-over thriller.

Fargana century powers Bangladesh to a formidable total

After electing to bat first, Bangladesh Women got off to a decent start as they managed to see off the first powerplay without losing any wickets. Initially, the wicket was doing enough for the seamers, but the Indians were not disciplined with their line and failed to make any early breakthrough.

The new opening combination of Shamima Sultana and Fargana Hoque worked pretty well for the hosts as the duo laid a good foundation with a 93-run opening stand. Sneh Rana drew the first blood after the halfway mark as she removed Shamima after a well-made half-century.

Even though Bangladesh were not losing any wicket, the Indian spinners made sure to keep a check on the flow of runs during the middle overs. With ten overs remaining, Bangladesh lost two quick wickets while trying to increase the scoring rate as India were eyeing to restrict them to under 200.

However, Fargana was well set at one end and carried her side over the 200-run mark. She further went on to score her maiden ODI century, taking Bangladesh to a formidable 225 at the end of the 50 overs.

India's late collapse allowed Bangladesh to a dramatic tie

Chasing 226, India Women got off to a poor start as they lost Shafali Verma and Yastika Bhatia early in the powerplay. Harleen Deol, who got promoted up the order, joined hands with Smriti Mandhana and ensured India went through the powerplay without losing any further wickets.

India kept the scoreboard moving and never allowed the opposition bowlers to settle down. Both Mandhana and Harleen went on to complete their half centuries before Mandhana departed for a well-made 59.

However, just when India looked like cruising towards victory, the tide shifted as India lost two wickets in the very same over in the form of run-outs. In addition, the lower order faltered, and India were limited to 223 for 9 with one over to go.

When the equation came down to 1 from four balls, Marufa Akter got the wicket of Meghna Singh, and the game eventually ended in a tie as there was no Super Over because the game went on beyond the scheduled close of play.
