Despite registering an emphatic victory in the first Test, Sri Lanka’s top-order form continues to remain a primary area of concern for the visitors. In the first innings at Sylhet, Sri Lanka slipped to 57-5 before imperial centuries from captain Dhananjaya de Silva and Kamindu Mendis lifted the team. Sri Lanka also crumbled to 64-4, and to 126-6, before a lower-order resistance took them past the 400-run mark in the second innings.

Moreover, fast bowler Kasun Rajitha, who picked up eight wickets in the match, has been ruled out of the decider owing to an injury. A win over Bangladesh in the second Test will not only help them seal the series 2-0, but will also give them a much-needed rankings boost on the WTC points table.
