Smaran Ravichandran, the talented left-handed batter from Karnataka, is showing great consistency in the Maharaja Trophy 2025. He is known for his ability to hit effortless sixes, and this time around, he has mixed his power with consistency to produce some dominating batting performances.

He is playing for Gulbarga Mystics, and after three fifties earlier in the tournament, the batter has now hit his fourth and highest score of the season against Hubli Tigers. Smaran Ravichandran, who is the captain of Mystics, came out to bat at number four with his team two down for 38.

Smaran Ravichandran Leads From The Front For Gulbarga Mystics

They needed Smaran Ravichandran to bat till the end, and he did exactly that. In just the third ball of his innings, Smaran hit a six and followed it up with two more to transfer the pressure back on the Hubli Tigers very early in his innings. In the middle overs, as Gulbarga Mystics lost more wickets, Smaran Ravichandran controlled his attacking instincts and kept holding one end up.

However, he again unleashed his power in the backend of the innings when the pacers came back to bowl. He ended with an unbeaten 84 from 48 balls, and 43 of those runs came against fast bowlers. Interestingly, those 43 came off just 16 balls, which shows the comfort level he has against pacers.

Smaran Ravichandran Likely To Grab Attention Of IPL Franchises After Maharaja Heroics

The knock from Smaran Ravichandran took his side to a competitive total of 172, and a win in this game will take Gulbarga Mystics to the top of the table. Also, these consistent performances are likely to help Smaran Ravinchandran in catching the attention of IPL franchises.

He has scored 302 runs so far in seven matches at a brilliant average of 75.50 and a strike-rate of 157.29. He was named as Adam Zampa's replacement in the SRH squad during IPL 2025, but got injured without playing a single game. He would now be hoping to continue his good work in the Maharaja Trophy and be in high demand for the next IPL season.
