In a significant development, Sunrisers Hyderabad have roped in Harsh Dubey as an injury replacement for Smaran Ravichandran for the remainder of the ongoing IPL 2025. Notably, Ravichandran himself was an injury replacement for Australian spinner Adam Zampa.

Harsh Dubey Joins SRH As Ravichandran's Replacement

The development was confirmed through an official update on IPL's social media handle on X (formerly Twitter). Harsh Dubey, an all-rounder from Vidarbha, joins the Sunrisers setup for INR 30 lakhs. He is a left-handed batter and left-arm off-spinner and has played 16 T20 matches, scoring 19 runs and scalping nine wickets.

Dubey has been a prolific performer in First-Class cricket though, bagging 97 wickets across just 32 innings at a mind-boggling average of 19.98. He has eight five-wicket hauls and two ten-wicket hauls to his name, establishing himself as a core player for Vidarbha in the Indian domestic circuit.

His List-A numbers are also satisfactory, as he has claimed 21 scalps in 20 outings at a magnificent economy of 4.67. On the other hand, it's pretty unfortunate for Smaran Ravichandran to get ruled out without playing a single match for the Orange Army in the competition.

SRH On The Verge Of IPL 2025 Elimination

Led by Pat Cummins, SRH have had a forgettable season so far in the IPL 2025. The 2016 edition champions have managed only three wins in ten matches.

Although SRH had a great start to the tournament, winning the inaugural game against Rajasthan Royals, they failed to sustain their winning momentum, incurring crushing defeats in most of their subsequent matches.

They are currently placed ninth in the IPL 2025 standings and will take on the in-form Delhi Capitals in the 55th group-stage match of the tournament tonight.
